Which subjects make up the commerce group?

Three subjects make up the commerce group: Economics (0455), Business and Accounting (0452). None of them is tiered — every candidate sits the same papers and the full A*–G range is available — and none of them assumes the others have been studied.

They are not three versions of one subject

Economics is about how markets, firms and governments behave, and why prices, employment and trade move as they do. It is the most theoretical of the three and the most argument-based.
Business is about how a single firm is run — marketing, people, operations, finance — and is examined largely through case material about a specific company.
Accounting is a set of rules and records: what a transaction does to the books, and how the books produce a statement. It is the most procedural, and the one that suits students who like a method that gives a right answer.

There is some shared vocabulary — costs, revenue, competition — but each is examined on its own terms, and doing well in one is no guarantee in another.

How each is assessed

Economics 0455 has two papers: a multiple-choice paper worth 30% and a longer structured paper worth 70%, containing a compulsory data-response question plus a choice of longer questions. The current syllabus lengthens the multiple-choice paper to forty questions in an hour and reshapes the structured paper.

Accounting 0452 also has two: a multiple-choice paper worth 30% and a written paper worth 70% made up of five compulsory twenty-mark questions. Recent syllabus content adds ethical considerations and the effect of technology and sustainability on accounting practice.

Business has two papers of equal weight: a short-answer and data-response paper, and a case study paper, each with four compulsory questions built on stimulus material.

The Business syllabus change

Cambridge is replacing Business Studies 0450 with a new syllabus, 0264. The last examination for 0450 is the November 2026 series and 0264 is first examined from the March 2027 series. On the 9–1 scale the equivalent change is 0986 ending and 0774 beginning.

This is a genuine revision, not a rename. Content has been reordered and trimmed, questions now carry four parts rather than five, application carries more weight, and new material has been added on technology in production, sustainable production and digital communication. The practical consequence for a student: past papers from 0450 no longer match the new syllabus in full, so revision material has to be chosen for the right code.

Who takes them

Commerce subjects are the natural set for a student heading toward business, finance, law or management. They are also the most common electives added by students whose main package is science, where the timetable allows it — a separate question, and one the school answers.

商科由三个科目组成：经济学（0455）、商业学与会计（0452）。三科都不分层级——所有考生考同一套试卷，A*–G 全范围皆可取得——也都不预设你已修过另外两科。

三者不是同一科的不同版本

经济学讲的是市场、企业与政府如何运作，价格、就业与贸易为何这样变动。三科中理论性最强，也最讲论证。
商业学讲的是一家公司怎么经营——市场营销、人事、运作与财务——主要透过某家公司的案例材料来考核。
会计是一套规则与账目：一笔交易如何影响账簿，账簿又如何产出报表。三科中最讲程序，适合喜欢“有标准答案的方法”的学生。

三科有一些共通词汇——成本、收入、竞争——但各自的考法不同，其中一科考得好，并不保证另一科也一样。

各科怎么考

经济学 0455 两份试卷：选择题卷占 30%，较长的结构题卷占 70%，内含一道必答的资料分析题与若干可选长题。现行考纲把选择题卷延长为一小时四十题，并调整了结构题卷。

会计 0452 同样两份：选择题卷占 30%，笔试卷占 70%，由五道各二十分的必答题组成。近期考纲新增了职业道德，以及科技与可持续发展对会计实务的影响。

商业学两份试卷各占一半：一份为简答与资料分析，一份为个案研究，两份各有四道以材料为基础的必答题。

商业学的考纲更换

剑桥将以新考纲 0264 取代商业学 0450。0450 的最后一次考试为 2026 年 11 月考期，0264 自 2027 年 3 月考期起首次开考。9–1 制度的对应变动是 0986 结束、0774 开始。

这是一次真正的修订，不只是改编号。内容经过重排与精简，题目由五个小问改为四个小问，应用能力的比重提高，并新增了生产中的科技、可持续生产与数码沟通等内容。对学生的实际影响是：0450 的历年试题已不完全对应新考纲，复习材料必须按正确的编号来挑。

谁会读这几科

打算走商业、金融、法律或管理路线的学生，商科是自然的组合。它也是主修理科配套的学生最常加修的选修科——前提是课表排得开，而那是学校才能回答的问题。
